The mind of the spiritual person

When a person is ‘spiritual’ i.e. ‘spiritually minded’ that individual is getting direction and instruction directly from the mind of Christ!

The result is that he is capable of understanding and perceiving literally anything which might be revealed to him from the mind of God.   He or she could accurately judge anything because of the mind of Christ.

Conversely a person that is not walking in the mind of Christ cannot accurately judge the spiritual man’s revelations and actions when they derive from the Spirit of God because they come  from the mind of Christ.   As the NIV translation says “mere human judgments” cannot properly judge the mind of God, for who has known the mind of God but God Himself.

We must walk and yield to the Holy Spirit to be in this place of accurate judgement.

1 Corinthians 2:15-16 (KJV)

15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:15-16 (NIV)

15  The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,
16 for,

“Who has known the mind of the Lord
    so as to instruct him?”[a]

But we have the mind of Christ.

 Rom-12-2-TransformedMind

1 Corinthians 2:15-16 (AMP)

15 But the spiritual man tries all things [he [a]examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him].

16 For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.

Consider the role of the Holy Spirit here in revealing the mind of Christ to the spiritual man:

John 16:

12“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
13“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

14“He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.
